The new Sony Handicams are great
The Sony HD HC-7 handicam is worth its weight in gold to me. I am an amateur high school filmmaker, and the quality of the footage has been phenomenal with this camera. The camera offers HD, and SD capturing, as well as a 30fps mode to give your movies a more “cinema” feel to them. Also this camera comes with a port which can be converted to accept an XLR mic, a Lanc port, headphones port, and Sony Pro Duo memory stick drive. This camera still records to mini dv tape, and although that may seem like a down side, the Sony HC7 records in an HDV setting, while the new hard drive camcorders record in AVCHD format which has inferior quality. Overall I think this has been a great little camera, and for the amateur filmmaker, this camera has been a lifesaver. |
